I’m working with a fantastic manufacturing business to recruit a Supply Chain Manager to join their team on a fixed-term basis until January 2028.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Supply Chain professional – or a strong number two ready to step up – to take ownership of a busy supply chain function with a significant purchasing spend and a well-established team.
The role
You’ll have responsibility across purchasing, supplier management and material availability, ensuring the business has what it needs to maintain service and support production.
Alongside the day-to-day operation, there are some really interesting projects to get involved in, including:
- Supplier changes and development
- NPD and new product launches
- Systems and data improvements
- Purchasing and process improvement projects
- Supporting improvements across materials and warehousing
- Developing supplier relationships and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Leading and supporting the wider supply chain team
Who are we looking for?
We’re deliberately keeping an open mind on job title and level.
You could already be working as a Supply Chain Manager, or you might be a Procurement Manager, Purchasing Manager, Senior Buyer or similar who has strong leadership experience and is ready to take that next step.
What’s more important is that you have:
- Strong understanding of end to end supply chain
- Experience within a manufacturing environment
- Confidence managing suppliers and significant spend
- Good understanding of materials, availability and service
- Leadership experience and the ability to develop a team
- A hands-on, down-to-earth approach
- Strong systems/data skills and an improvement mindset
The business
- This is a client I genuinely love recruiting for.
- They have a brilliant, down-to-earth culture, lovely people and a collaborative environment where the Supply Chain team works closely with the wider business and shop floor.
- It’s an FTC, but you’re absolutely not just coming in to keep the seat warm. There’s plenty to take ownership of and a real opportunity to make an impact during your time with the business.
- The role is predominantly site-based, particularly during the initial handover period, although there is flexibility around working hours and potentially some home working once established.
