Are you experienced in Engineering Stores, Inventory Management or Maintenance Planning and looking for a role where you can take real ownership and make improvements?
We’re recruiting for a Stores & Maintenance Planning Manager to join an established manufacturing business.
This is a varied role combining responsibility for the engineering stores function, spare parts and inventory control alongside the planning and coordination of preventative maintenance activities.
What you’ll be doing
- Taking ownership of the day-to-day engineering stores operation
- Managing stock levels across spare parts, consumables and operational materials
- Maintaining accurate inventory records across ERP / stock management systems
- Raising purchase orders and sourcing parts and materials from suppliers
- Building strong supplier relationships and obtaining competitive quotations
- Identifying opportunities to reduce costs, consolidate suppliers and optimise stock holdings
- Investigating stock discrepancies and managing regular stock counts
- Developing and maintaining preventative maintenance schedules
- Planning maintenance activity to minimise disruption and downtime
- Ensuring parts, materials, contractors and other resources are ready ahead of planned maintenance
- Creating and managing work orders through the CMMS
What we’re looking for
We’re keen to speak with people who have previous experience within Stores Management, Engineering Stores, Inventory Management, Maintenance Planning or a similar role.
Ideally, you’ll bring:
- Experience within a stock control / stores / inventory management role within a fast paced environment.
- Experience working with ERP, CMMS or stock management systems
- An understanding of preventative maintenance and maintenance planning
- Experience working with suppliers and purchasing parts/materials
- Good Excel and data analysis skills
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- A proactive approach – someone who will look at how things are currently done and identify opportunities to improve them
