We’re partnering with a well-established and growing manufacturing business in Stirling who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Buyer to join their evolving supply chain function.
This is a genuinely broad and high-impact role sitting at the heart of the business, working closely with engineering, operations, and senior leadership to ensure materials, equipment, and services are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and in line with both operational and project demands.
This isn’t a narrow purchasing role – it’s varied, fast-paced, and ideal for someone who enjoys ownership and variety in their day.
Key responsibilities include:
- Processing purchase requisitions and placing accurate, timely orders
- Managing key supplier relationships across engineering, packaging, and consumables
- Supporting inventory and stores management activity
- Handling logistics coordination including transport, imports, and exports
- Preparing RFQs, tenders, and cost comparisons
- Managing supplier performance and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Expediting deliveries to support production and project deadlines
- Identifying cost-saving opportunities and supporting wider procurement strategy
- You’ll also play a key role in mentoring and supporting a junior team member, helping to build capability within the team.
You’ll bring:
- Strong purchasing background within a manufacturing / engineering environment
- Strong understanding of supply chain, logistics, and inventory processes
- Experience working with SLAs, contracts, and supplier performance management
- Exposure to import/export or wider logistics coordination (desirable)
- Confident communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong negotiation and commercial awareness
- A proactive, detail-focused and organised approach
- The ability to mentor or support junior colleagues
