Our growing manufacturing client based in Edinburgh are looking for a Senior Buyer to join their Supply Chain team. This is your chance to play a key role in shaping procurement strategies, building strong supplier relationships, and driving continuous improvement across the business.
What you’ll do:
- Lead purchasing performance through KPI reporting and supplier management.
- Source and manage materials, optimising cost, inventory levels, and supplier performance.
- Place purchase orders and monitor deliveries, ensuring high service levels and minimal stock waste.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, lead times, and terms with suppliers in line with business goals.
- Lead supplier evaluations, support new product introductions, and drive cost-saving initiatives.
- Maintain accurate supplier records, product pricing, and inventory transactions in ERP systems.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering best practices across the organisation.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, contracts, and ethical standards.
What we’re looking for:
- 5+ years of purchasing experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong ERP knowledge and advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Proven negotiation and supplier management expertise.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
