An exciting opportunity has come up to join an established manufacturing business in Glenrothes as a Purchasing Coordinator.
This is a really varied, hands-on role and would suit someone with experience across purchasing, procurement, stock control or materials who enjoys being involved across different areas of a manufacturing operation.
Working closely with purchasing, production, engineering, warehouse, and sales, you'll play an important role in ensuring materials and components are available when needed and orders keep moving.
What you'll be doing:
- Raising and managing purchase orders for raw materials, engineering components, and third-party suppliers
- Sourcing materials, components, and suppliers
- Monitoring supplier costs, lead times, quality, and deliveries
- Proactively chasing outstanding orders and resolving supply issues
- Managing stock levels and ensuring materials are available for production
- Supporting stock checks, goods inward and inventory accuracy
- Maintaining accurate purchasing records and reports
- Using Sage and internal systems for stock checks, reporting and back-order management
What we're looking for:
Previous experience within purchasing, procurement, materials, stock control or supply chain would be ideal, particularly within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
You'll be someone who is:
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Confident dealing with suppliers
- Comfortable working in a busy manufacturing environment
- Proactive and able to solve problems
- Strong with systems, data and administration
- Able to manage competing priorities
- Happy taking ownership and seeing tasks through to completion
This could be a great next move for a Purchasing Assistant, Procurement Coordinator, Materials Controller, Stock Controller or Assistant Buyer looking for a broader role with plenty of variety and exposure across a manufacturing business.
