Our client, a leading manufacturing company based in Hawick, is seeking a talented and experienced Manufacturing Process Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving continuous improvement across processes, optimising production speed while maintaining high-quality output and strict adherence to safety and environmental standards. Your responsibilities will include monitoring extrusion parameters, conducting process audits, offering technical support, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance operational excellence, promote innovation, and uphold sustainable practices while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and optimise processes for maximum throughput and minimal waste.
- Conduct audits to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and support to production teams.
- Develop and maintain process documentation in line with compliance standards.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean and Six Sigma.
- Evaluate and recommend new equipment based on ROI and production needs.
- Act as a liaison between different departments and deliver training on new processes.
- Implement data-driven decision-making using statistical process control.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental practices.
- Manage budgets and resources efficiently under process improvement projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or similar).
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient in data analysis and familiar with ERP or MES software.
- Strong communication and team-building skills.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Certifications in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma preferred.
- Willingness to work flexible hours to meet production requirements.
