An exciting opportunity has come up for a Process Development Engineer to join an established and growing business based in Fife.
This is a hands-on technical role where you'll have the opportunity to work across process development, testing, troubleshooting and continuous improvement, playing a key part in improving performance, quality and efficiency.
We're looking for someone with a Mechanical, Chemical or related Engineering background who enjoys problem solving, getting involved technically and working closely with different teams to develop and improve processes.
What you'll be doing:
- Developing and optimising manufacturing processes
- Identifying process inefficiencies and implementing improvements
- Troubleshooting equipment and resolving technical issues
- Carrying out testing and validation of materials and processes
- Supporting new product and process development
- Working to improve performance, quality and production efficiency
- Identifying opportunities to reduce waste and downtime
- Working closely with R&D, Quality and Production teams
- Producing technical documentation, process flows, SOPs and validation reports
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the operation
What we're looking for:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline
- Previous experience within a Process Engineering or similar technical role
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills
- Experience troubleshooting equipment and process issues
- Experience with testing and validation
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies would be advantageous
- Strong communication and technical documentation skills
- Someone who can work independently, take ownership and drive improvements
