A leading heavy engineering manufacturer is looking to appoint an Operations Manager to take full ownership of a critical production area.
This is a hands-on leadership role in an asset-intensive environment, where you’ll be responsible for driving performance across safety, delivery, quality, and cost—while building and developing a high-performing team.
The Role
You will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of operations, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
Key areas of focus include:
- Leading and embedding a strong health & safety culture
- Delivering against production plans and customer requirements
- Driving continuous improvement, efficiency, and cost reduction
- Managing performance metrics (KPIs, OEE, scrap, downtime)
- Leading root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
- Working closely with maintenance to improve asset reliability and uptime
- Developing, coaching, and leading a high-performing operations team
- Championing lean, CI, and operational excellence initiatives
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a heavy engineering / manufacturing environment
- Strong background in operations or production management
- Ability to drive performance, accountability, and cultural change
- Strong understanding of continuous improvement / lean principles
- Comfortable working with data, KPIs, and problem-solving tools
- Engineering qualification (preferred but not essential)
