We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join the Maintenance team at our Plant based in the Scottish Borders.
This is a key leadership role for a hands-on mechanical professional who knows how to balance people, planning, and performance in a fast-paced industrial environment. You’ll lead from the front, set the standard for safety and quality, and play a central role in keeping the plant running reliably and efficiently.
The Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for leading and supporting the mechanical maintenance team, ensuring all work is carried out safely, compliantly, and to a high standard.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and support mechanical technicians, apprentices, and contractors
- Plan and oversee preventative, corrective, and shutdown maintenance
- Drive safety compliance and high-quality standards
- Manage work orders and a rolling maintenance plan via CMMS (MX)
- Support team development and continuous improvement
- Monitor contractor performance and mechanical downtime
What we’re looking for
- Time-served mechanical engineer (HNC/HND desirable)
- Supervisory experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong mechanical maintenance and H&S knowledge
- Confident, organised leader who leads from the front
