Our dynamic manufacturing client based in Edinburgh are looking for a Materials Manager to join their Supply Chain team. You’ll play a key role in ensuring materials are available when and where they’re needed, driving process improvements, and supporting production continuity.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and develop the Materials Team, supporting training, skills development, and growth.
- Provide daily and monthly KPIs to demonstrate process control and compliance.
- Action MRP outputs in real time and manage material planning to meet forecast demand.
- Lead bi-annual full physical inventory counts and ensure data integrity in inventory masters.
- Manage inventory risk, including contingency planning, to support uninterrupted production.
- Investigate and implement solutions to overcome material issues, addressing operational risks.
- Support new product introductions to ensure smooth production launch.
- Design and implement flexible solutions to improve efficiency, drive process improvements, and add value.
- Utilise and develop the Material Requirements Planning system, maintaining accurate data and resolving issues as they arise.
What we’re looking for:
- Significant experience in material planning management role within a fast paced manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to manage a team and deliver results through cross-functional working.
- Strong IT skills, including advanced Excel and MRP system experience.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to deliver flexible, effective solutions.
