Rising Talent Recruitment is excited to announce a permanent opportunity for a Control and Instrumentation Technician based in the beautiful Scottish Borders. As a key member of the Maintenance Team, you will ensure the efficiency and timeliness of maintenance work, driving plant reliability and supporting operational efficiency. In this role, you will develop, install, manage, and maintain critical equipment used to monitor and control engineering systems in our operations. Your expertise will be vital in optimising plant asset performance while adhering to the latest industry standards and safety practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure a Zero harm environment through disciplined adherence to safety protocols.
- Provide technical support for the installation and fault diagnosis of instrumentation and control systems.
- Execute planned proactive tasks in compliance with shutdown plans.
- Perform reactive maintenance tasks based on business needs.
- Develop new control systems and maintain existing systems for safety and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
- Participate in OPEX and CAPEX budget activities related to electrical and control instrumentation.
- Audit and maintain the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Assist with additional tasks as directed by management to meet operational requirements.
Requirements:
- Recognised apprenticeship and a minimum of 5 years experience in C&I maintenance, preferably in the process industry.
- Strong background in maintaining and optimising industrial control systems, DCS, PLC (Siemens PCS7 is a plus), and SCADA systems.
- A driven, self-motivated individual with excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Willingness to train apprentices and work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Prepared to work day shifts Monday to Friday, with flexibility for additional hours as needed.
