As a Commodity Buyer, you’ll take ownership of a defined set of commodities in a fast-moving manufacturing environment. You’ll help shape strategies, uncover cost-saving opportunities, and build strong relationships with suppliers — all while driving the business forward and keeping operations running smoothly.
What You’ll Do
- Own a specific set of commodities, creating and executing strategies aligned with business objectives
- Maximise value through supplier collaboration and competitive sourcing opportunities
- Manage RFQs, tenders, and supplier evaluations
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and deliver measurable improvements
- Lead supplier negotiations to secure the best commercial outcomes
- Monitor market trends and commodity price movements to capitalise on opportunities
- Develop and implement risk management plans for assigned commodities
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams to ensure smooth operations
- Track supplier performance using scorecards and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Source and develop new suppliers to strengthen the supply base
What We’re Looking For
- Solid experience in procurement and commodity management, including global sourcing, supplier management, and negotiation
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to drive business results
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
- Confident negotiator with persuasive communication and presentation skills
